Our Mission
GLCCMP works to combat climate change and poverty through sustainable tree planting and forest management, produce essential forest products outside of the rainforests, reinvest all generated income to scale impact and support ecosystem protection, livelihood improvement, local community development and long-term economic resilience.
Our Vision
We envisage a resilient Liberia where thriving forests, empowered communities, and sustainable livelihoods work together to create a nation free from extreme poverty and climate vulnerability.
Community Engagement
Integrating tree planting, rural children’s education, and inclusive community consultation and engagement, we equip local communities with the requisite knowledge and tools to drive lasting environmental, social and economic transformation.

Our History
In 2014, Joseph Hoffman shaped by hardship with many years in exile founded the Green Liberia Climate Change & Poverty Mitigators (GLCCPM) to bring hope to his war-ravaged country of origin. After enduring 14 years of brutal civil war, Liberia was left scarred by violence and extreme poverty. Like many others, Joseph lived through this turmoil. When the conflict finally ended, he returned home with a renewed determination to contribute to the rebuilding process of Liberia and restore dignity to its people, through tree planting, degraded land restoration, sustainable forest management, capacity building, community empowerment and poverty alleviation initiatives in partnership with rural communities.
What We Do
Through tree planting and sustainable forest management, we restore degraded lands while building community capacity, empowering local people, and alleviating poverty in Liberia.
Degraded Lands
These numbers show how far we have come, although working with very limited resources.
Founder & CEO
Joseph Hoffman is a Liberian, and he’s a Swedish-trained silviculturist with over 14 years of professional experience. He’s a visionary and resourceful leader. While striving to make his vision become a reality in Liberia, Joseph also works in Sweden periodically in order to support this significant cause through his accumulated salary. His passion for the wellbeing of the environment and the underpriviledged drives him to press-on the more for a break-through. As Joseph often says, “Everyone has something to contribute, big or small, therefore, do the best you can to change the wrong you see in society.
